biofuels (mixed)

             Mixed  BioFuels  (Biopetroleum)

This novel and patented process for manufacturing energy biofuel and organic chemical products from lipids such as tree oil, vegetable oil, animal fat, industrial oil and their byproducts (e.g. waste cooking oil) by breaking double carbon bonds, chemical treatments and seperation processes. It improves to the current processes for producing only biodiesel  with carbon numbers 15-19 in the molecules. The multi-biofuel and organic products with small carbon numbers 3-10 in the molecules have wide applications.

Oil and fat materials contain unsaturated carbon-carbon double bonds in the molecules such as soybean oil contains 88 % and rapeseed oil contains 97 % unsaturated double carbon-carbon bonds. The unsaturated double carbon-carbon bonds in the molecules with 14-18 carbon numbers are broken chemically into the molecules with smaller molecular weights (3-10 carbon numbers) with chemicals, enzymes, microorganisims or their combination, which improves the boiling points and burning performance significantly. The mixed products are formed after chemical treatments. Some of these molecules are C3H7OH, OHCH2CH2CH2OH, OHCCH2CHO, CH3(CH2)4CHO, CH3(CH2)4COH,  H3COOCH2CH2CH2OOCH3,  CH3(CH2)5CHO, CH3(CH2)5COH, CH3(CH2)5COOCH3, CH3(CH2)7CHO, CH3(CH2)7COH, OHC(CH2)7 COOCH3, HOC(CH2)7COOCH3, HOOC(CH2)7COOH and CH3(CH2)7COOCH3.  Then the mixed fuels (biopetroleum) are separated to produce multi-fuel and organic chemical products according to their boiling points.

C=C in oils + reagent --> breaking C=C/intermediate --> Esters, alcohols and  organic chemicals with 3-10 carbon numbers at low boiling points

There are four types of products produced: (1) biofuel products; (2) organic chemicals; (3) glycerin and (4) saturated fatty acids with C14 to C18. The biofuel energy products are esters and alcohols with carbon numbers 3-10 in their moleculesat at boiling point range from 97 to 250 degrees C. The organic chemical products are different aldehydes, esters and carboxylic acids with carbon numbers 3-10 in their molecules. Biofuel products and organic chemicals are the most in the products. Some organic chemicals such as azelaic acid are not available from petrochemical sources. Azelaic acid is used for polymer production. Saturated fatty acids are not reacted in the reactions, which are usually less than 15 % in plant oils. The saturated fatty acids can  be used as solid fat, animal energy product and ingredients to wax, esters and fatty acid salts. Fatty acid calcium salt can be used as bypass fat. Fatty acid sodium salt can be used as soap.

As we know the world's supply of petroleum will run out sometime in the future. Crude petroleum oil price becomes higher and higher. We need to look for reliable sources. This process produces alternatives (biopetroleum) for partially replace petroleum products such as gasoline, ligroin, jet fuel, and diesel. This process is particularly advantageous to produce biofuel and organic chemical products from available materials, which provides a good solution for energy crisis with significant potential.
